Product Details

Lodge, America’s oldest cast iron manufacturer, makes reliable, virtually indestructible cast iron skillets. Cast iron is prized for its ability to get extremely hot and retain that heat, resulting in gorgeously browned foods, whether that's seared steak or Brussels sprouts. It can go on in the oven, on the barbecue, and all hobs except induction (due to a ridged edge that prevents it from sitting completely flat on the hob). Over time, cast iron builds a top layer, or ‘patina’, that makes it stick-resistant; this requires a little extra care—read all about how to care for cast iron pans here. This has one side with as a flat surface, like a skillet or frying pan, while the other has a ribbed surface for indoor or outdoor grilling.

Note: Because Lodge pans are made using a traditional sand-moulding technique and undergo pre-seasoning before reaching you, there may be minor cosmetic imperfections such as pinholes or smudges on the surface. These are considered normal and do not affect the performance of the pans.

Why we love it

'I've had two other grill pans—neither created those perfect strike marks. But the third time was a charm! I can get an outdoor-on-the-bbq taste with this pan from my apartment's gas hob, and the other side is perfect for pancakes or cooking lots of different foods at once, like for a full English breakfast. I even use it as a pizza or baking stone.'
