The Peugeot family has been making salt and pepper mills since 1874, regarded by many as the best in the world. The Peugeot brand means different things to different people. For some, cars come to mind, for others, bikes. At Borough Kitchen, we think of salt and pepper mills. The mills are made in Alsace, France, using European wood. Peugeot mills are known for their consistent grind and sleek design, looking perfect in any home, kitchen or restaurant.
Frequently Asked Questions
What type of salt should I use in my Peugeot salt mill?
We recommend kernels of rock salt (not flaked or pre-ground) in your salt mill.
What type of pepper should I use in my Peugeot pepper mill?
We recommend using dry, hard, whole peppercorns in your pepper mill.
How should I clean my Peugeot mill?
We recommend using a dry, clean cloth to clean your mill. Detergents or cleaning agents should not be used.
The pepper is ground too coarse - how can I get a finer grind?
If you have a small manual mill, like the Bistro or Baya range, there's a knob at the top for the Classic Grind. The tighter the knob, the finer the grind. The pepper and salt mills from ranges such as Paris or Isen feature their patented U'Select system and have a grind adjustment ring at the bottom. There are six settings from I (finest) - V (coarsest). The electric mills have the same adjustable grind, but the graduations are done horizontally. The smaller the number the finer the grind.
You carry a lot of different types of mills. What are the differences?
The steel of each Peugeot mill has been treated with Peugeot's 'IMP' coating which maintains its super sharpness and prevents corrosion and rusting, vastly increasing durability. The mechanism is fully adjustable, allowing for a grinding range from ultrafine to coarse for a perfect, precise grind. Each mechanism comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Paris
The Paris mills have an iconic shape and are either made from an attractive beechwood that has seven layers of hand-applied lacquer or stain, or crafted from brushed stainless steel. Whatever the choice of finish, they look great in any home, kitchen or restaurant.

Ouessant
