Product Details
Made entirely by hand in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, this oval serving dish from Bertozzi is made of Limoges porcelain, considered the finest in the world. Its unique mix of kaolin, feldspar and quartz allows it to be fired at extremely high temperatures for durability and a luminous glaze associated with royal china. It is glazed using a century-old secret recipe from founder Luigi Bertozzi. The paint recipe mixes flour, vinegar, and rusted iron to create a distinguished palette that cannot be replicated. Their Pratoline pattern, which depicts wildflowers, has been block printed onto the porcelain before being fired, resulting in a deeply pigmented colour and unique design. As this piece is completely unique, slight variations in shape and colour are part of its charm. It is dishwasher-safe.
Why we love it
'This piece reflects light beautifully, thanks to a mix of Bertozzi’s singular colours and the natural lustre of Limoges porcelain. The hand-painted interior is so delicate.'
