Frequently Asked Questions
Can you wash Cutipol cutlery in the dishwasher?
All stainless steel cutlery from Cutipol can be washed in the dishwasher. Avoid using detergents with chlorine or anti-limestone agents. Make sure that at the end of the wash cycle the pieces are completely dry—even if they look dry, it's best to wipe them with a cloth to make sure. Of course, you can hand wash your cutlery too. Just avoid using abrasive cloths or scouring pads and be sure to wash off any food remains as soon as possible after use.
What grade of stainless steel is used in Cutipol cutlery?
Forks and spoons have an 18/10 steel base, an alloy made up of 18% chromium and 10% nickel. This makes them oxidation-resistant and therefore dishwasher-safe. The knives are made with 420 steel that offers good corrosion resistance and edge-holding capabilities to give them hardness and more cutting power. Dishwasher use can weaken their edge, so if possible, we recommend washing knives by hand or making sure to take them out of the dishwasher as soon as the cycle ends to hand-dry with cloth.
What are the Goa and Ebony handles made from?
The handles are made from resin, and though dishwasher-safe, they require a little extra maintenance after years of use. To maintain the darker colour of the handles, simply rub them with oil or moisturiser and they'll look good as new.
