Product Details
Skeppshult have crafted hand-forged cookware in Sweden since 1906. Made from entirely natural iron, each handmade piece is completely unique, only gets better with time and use, and is built to last a lifetime. This Skeppshult Cast Iron Deep Frying Pan has high walls to create more steam, and a thick 5mm base that's excellent for even heat conduction. Featuring a walnut handle that's exclusive to Borough Kitchen in the UK, the handle stays cool during cooking, making the pan easier to manoeuvre and a great stove-to-table pan. The wooden handle can be removed by unscrewing the eyelet at the end of the handle, and replaced the same way. (Wooden handles are not compatible in the oven.) Made from high-quality solid cast iron, the texture of the pan is very coarse for excellent caramelisation, which also helps food to release better and means an outstanding searing surface. With high walls to create more steam, the versatile pan is similar to a skillet, making it great for frying, searing, or stir-frying. The pan is compatible with all heat sources, features a cast iron lip that acts as a support handle, and is pre-seasoned with organic canola oil so that the natural non-stick surface gets better with age.
Why we love it
'This pan is so versatile. The gritty texture gets a fantastic caramelisation and the high walls create more steam when cooking.'
